Three highly polished carnelian crystals boasting great colours and some distinctive inclusions.
Carnelian is an ancient stone that generally occurs in different shades of red, brown and orange but it can also be white, have tinges of yellow or blue and can either be a solid colour or banded. When carnelian exhibits bands it tends to be referred to as agate. The stone at the forefront of our photo exhibits areas which are banded and also has a slightly pink hue. The crystal behind on the left is beautifully orange and the stone to the right exhibits a deeper shade of brown. The colour in carnelian is caused primarily by the presence of hematite.
In her book The Crystal Bible, Judy Hall explains carnelian is used in crystal healing for restoring vitality, boosting motivation and for stimulating creativity.
Carnelian is translucent and generally has a vitreous lustre which refers to the way that light interacts with the surface of the mineral. Stones usually have a glass-like appearance and texture and are most commonly highly polished.
These three carnelian stones would be ideal for someone who loves crystals, rocks and minerals and they come in their own stylish gift pouch.
