Blue Lace Agate
Natural Minerals from Namibia
A tantalizingly sky blue coloured blue lace agate stone from Namibia. This impressive piece exhibits wonderfully subtle markings and the wavy bands for which this mineral is well known can be seen around the entire edge. Its exceptional polish and vitreous lustre contributes to it being incredibly tactile.
The colours present in agate are the result of various impurities and whilst some varieties can be extraordinarily colourful, it also frequently occurs in shades of black, white and grey but these stones often end up being dyed. The colour in blue lace agate is completely natural.
When used in crystal healing blue lace agate is said to induce relaxation and a feeling of calmness which in turn brings about a sense of inner peace and tranquility. It's used for activating and healing the throat chakra and is helpful for alleviating symptoms of a cold, headache and dental problems. A single stone may be used as a worry bead to help ease depression or the feeling of having the whole world resting on your shoulders.
Although small amounts of blue lace agate can be found in several countries around the world the vast majority comes from Namibia. The deposit which lies close to the Orange River was discovered in the 1960's but in recent years the mining operation has been scaled back significantly although small quantities continue to be mined.
This is one of only a few pieces of blue lace agate that we currently have in our collection and it's a stone that certainly won't disappoint.
