Magnificent amethyst geode featuring large translucent crystals and impressive rich purple colour. Mined in Brazil, it's one of only two pieces of its kind that we currently have available in our collection. Having a vitreous lustre means that the crystals catch the light at almost every angle.
Birthstone for the month of February, amethyst is well known and extremely popular as a gemstone and it also happens to be the mineral that's best known for lining the inside of a geode.
The colour of this purple variety of quartz is not only caused by trace impurities of iron but also of manganese and some of the world's finest material comes from Brazil.
This is a relatively large, chunky and very solid amethyst geode which will make a truly spectacular display piece but in order to prevent the colour from fading, it must be kept away from bright sunlight.
