Although sometimes looked upon as being the same stone, green quartz is different to green aventurine. Green quartz is correctly known as prase although the name is not used that often.
Prasiolite is another green variety of quartz but due to its rarity, the vast majority is produced by heating amethyst. The stone is often referred to as green amethyst which is a misnomer because amethyst only occurs in shades of purple. Any other colour and it's not amethyst.
The colour of these green quartz tumbled stones is natural and has been caused by inclusions of green coloured minerals within the stone's crystal structure.
The size of our green quartz tumbled stones varies slightly from piece to piece but they're classed as a medium sized stone. Due to the difference in size we've split them into small and medium.
