Snowflake Obsidian Crystals Large Sizes

The greyish white markings in snowflake obsidian are inclusions of spherulite.  These radiating needle-like crystalline fibres occur in certain igneous rocks. Generally seen in those with a vitreous lustre, a cavity or crystal of quartz or feldspar can usually be found at the centre of each spherulite. 

Obsidian is volcanic glass produced by lava that cools quickly after being expelled from a volcano.  Due to the speed at which it cools there's little time for crystals to grow.

When used for its healing properties snowflake obsidian encourages personal growth, instills determination and stimulates intuition.
