Ocean jasper is a type of orbicular jasper found only in Madagascar. The original deposit has been mined out for some years so only a very small amount of material is now available.
Ocean jasper is widely used for decorative purposes and also for its metaphysical properties. It's believed to have a positive, uplifting and calming effect on the mind and body.
Crystals have been used for healing purposes around the world for thousands of years. In Ancient Egypt they were also used for protection. Sacred Indian texts explain the specific healing properties of different crystals and how they can be used to improve health and wellbeing.
In Ancient Greece they were used for protection in battle and for medical treatments.
