Green fluorite is a translucent light green coloured stone that must be handled carefully. Despite its popularity as a lapidary material fluorite is soft, fragile and grades just 4 on Mohs scale of mineral hardness. As well as being brittle it also cleaves in four directions. In mineralogy cleavage is the tendency for a crystalline (made up of crystals) solid to split along structural plains. For this reason all varieties of fluorite are susceptible to internal fractures usually caused by a knock or some form of impact. This characteristic makes tumbling fluorite quite difficult.
Having a glass-like texture makes these green fluorite tumbled stones particularly tactile. Widely used for their metaphysical healing properties, fluorite is a highly protective stone especially on a psychic level. It's often used to combat disorganisation and is associated with progress and incorporating structure into one's daily life. These crystals draw off negative energy and particularly stress and are widely used to protect against EMF (electromagnetic fields). This negative energy is caused by home appliances including but not limited to microwaves, televisions, computers and mobile telephones.
Translucent minerals are always fascinating to look at and these green fluorite crystals are no exception. Try using a loupe or strong magnifying glass to marvel at the magnificence of Mother Nature.
Although classed as a medium sized tumbled stone, weights and sizes of these green fluorite crystals varies slightly from piece to piece. They'll be dispatched in a protective gift pouch and must be handled carefully to prevent chips, cracks and fractures.
