Citron Chrysoprase Tumbled Stones

Citron chrysoprase and lemon chrysoprase are trade names for the mineral nickeloan magnesite.  Found in Western Australia, this natural stone is a nickel-rich variety of magnesite.  Although most magnesite in Australia is white, the presence of nickel causes the subtle lime green colour.

The name citron chrysoprase has led some to believe this mineral is a type of chrysoprase but that's not accurate.  Chrysoprase is a variety of chalcedony whose green colour is caused by nickel, citron chrysoprase although also coloured by nickel is a variety of magnesite.  Magnesite and chalcedony are not the same mineral.  With that said, nickeloan magnesite or citron chrysoprase as it's more widely known can often be found in the same deposit as chrysoprase and some specimens are even a combination of the two minerals.

These fine grade citron chrysoprase stones are highly polished, extremely tactile and despite the minimal variation in colour, no two stones are the same.  Weights and sizes vary slightly from piece to piece.

Empathic warrior crystals are stones which have at some point in time sustained some kind of damage, usually a chip or fracture.  With rocks and minerals having evolved over millions of years we do not believe in throwing stones away because of minor damage so instead offer them for sale at a significantly reduced price.  Empathic warrior crystals are not always available and should this be the case, a refund will be issued before remaining items in the order are processed.  For more information read our article on empathic warrior crystals
