Goldstone is an interesting crystal sometimes mistaken for a natural stone. It's one of the very few man-made stones that we have as part of our collection.
Blue goldstone is not seen as often as the orange-brown variety. Although both sparkle as light reflects of minute inclusions within the glass, they're slightly different materials.
The orange-brown variety of goldstone is made using clear glass. Occasionally it may be very slightly coloured. The orange-brown colour comes mainly from the copper inclusions. Blue goldstone is made using blue glass and the spangled reflectance comes from inclusions of cobalt.
