Chatoyant Tiger Iron Pendant
Highly polished tiger iron pendant crafted in a fine sterling silver setting.
As this stone catches the light at just the right angle it becomes beautifully chatoyant. The chatoyance comes from the mineral tigers eye.
Although tiger iron and tigers eye share similar colours, they're not the same stone. Tiger iron is a banded iron formation that occurs in rocks dating back 1.8 to 2.5 billion years.
The material known as tiger iron can only be found in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
