Green Fluorite Pendant
Minty Green Coloured Fluorite Cabochon
Fascinating green fluorite pendant crafted in a timeless sterling silver setting.
Photographing highly translucent minerals can be tricky because under studio lighting it's difficult to capture the exact colour of the gemstone because it changes depending on the amount of light that's present and the angle from which the photograph was taken. To describe this green fluorite cabochon as having a minty green colour would be pretty accurate and with it being translucent, you can look deep inside a material that was created over millions of years. When held up towards the light the colour of this fluorite crystal looks more like a light coloured aquamarine.
Fluorite is a very fragile stone which must be handled with care and if knocked or dropped it will fracture or worse still, shatter completely. Stones have a vitreous lustre which describes the way the surface of the mineral interacts with light and stones with this type of lustre are sometimes described as having a glassy appearance or texture. On Mohs scale of mineral hardness fluorite grades 4 and is in fact the index mineral for this level of hardness.
Fluorite occurs in many different colours and when several colours are present together in layers or zones it becomes known as rainbow fluorite.
This green fluorite ladies pendant has been added to our collection of sale jewellery in the Bargain Basement because there is a natural flaw within the bottom section of the crystal which has caused a surface reaching fissure. It can seen in our second photograph but can hardly be felt and when the pendant is being worn certainly can't be seen. As with any sale item purchased from Stone Mania, should you not be completely satisfied with this green fluorite ladies pendant is may be returned for a full refund (T&C's apply).
