A slightly chunkier agate stone lightly polished and mounted as a pendant in fine sterling silver. Agate is one of the oldest of all minerals. It's history can be traced back to the writings of ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus. A variety of the mineral chalcedony, it's made up almost completely of silicon dioxide. In nature this chemical compound occurs as the mineral quartz. This colourful stone has an exceptionally smooth texture. Despite being slightly chunkier, at less than 20 grams it's comfortably lightweight.
