Rhodonite is a natural mineral known for its distinctive colour which can range from subtle pink to deep scarlett to cherry red. Although it forms translucent crystals they're exceptionally rare and rhodonite usually occurs in massive form meaning it forms one large mass with crystals tightly locked together with no definitive shape.
The opaque material is widely used for lapidary purposes and fine grade stones tend to be shaped as cabochons.
This colourful rhodonite gemstone boasts a rich shade of pink with subtle inclusions of manganese oxide around the base of the stone. A comfortably light weight pendant crafted for Stone Mania entirely by hand by a small team of artisans with whom we've been working for almost twenty years.
