This piece has been reduced because the cabochon has not been polished quite as perfectly as we would have liked. With that said, it's not something that you're likely to notice unless the stone is examined very carefully.
Polishing malachite is particularly challenging because the dust is toxic. Malachite is an ore of copper which is why the dust must not be inhaled. Once cut and polished there is almost no risk when handling the stone.
Malachite should never be used as an elixir and stones should not be put in your mouth.
Being very soft further complicates the cutting and polishing of malachite. Despite all the challenges of working with this green mineral, it has been used as a gemstone for thousands of years.
A colourful and very slightly chunkier malachite pendant at a great price. In the unlikely event you should you not be totally satisfied with your purchase it may be returned for a full refund (T&C's apply).
