Fossilized coral pendant crafted for Stone Mania in a hand-made sterling silver setting. Fossilized coral cabochons of this size and grade are pretty rare but having been shown a large rough piece of rock we couldn't resists having some super-sized stones cut and polished for our collection.
Fossilized coral dates back approximately 350 million years and is found primarily in Indonesia and on the shores around Lake Michigan in the USA. Stones from Lake Michigan are better known as Petoskey Stone after the coastal city of Petoskey which lies close by.
This curious gemstone is not seen that often in items of jewellery and especially a piece of this size. Surprisingly light weight it can be worn on a simple sterling silver chain and is sure to attract all the attention that it quite rightly deserves. It comes in a colourful gift pouch that will help to keep the stone safe and minimise any build-up of tarnish on the sterling silver.
We have two almost identical fossilised coral pendants currently available for sale. The second piece is one millimetre wider than the pendant listed on this page. To see photographs and details just follow the link in the dropdown list.
