Carnelian Pendant
Rich Orange Coloured Carnelian Pendant
Colourful carnelian pendant crafted by hand in a timeless sterling silver setting.
The gemstone carnelian is a variety of chalcedony which is part of the same group of minerals as agate, jasper and onyx. A popular lapidary material that's been widely used for thousands of years, its history can be traced as far back as Ancient Egypt where it was found in abundance in burial chambers. It's also believed to have been one of the twelve stones in the High Priests Breastplate which is a religious garment worn during biblical times by Aaron the first Jewish high priest.
This translucent and surprisingly tactile carnelian gemstone exhibits a vitreous lustre which is a reference to the way the surface of stone interacts with light. Stones are widely used in crystal healing and it's also the birthstone for the month of August.
This carnelian pendant can be worn on one of our Italian made, one millimetre thick sterling silver snake chains. Available in 16", 18" and 20" lengths. Buy both together and save £2 on the regular price of the chain.
