Although other varieties of radiolarite can be found around the world, windalia can only be found in Mooka Creek.
Mookaite is usually pronounced moo~kite which is not correct. It should be pronounced mooka~ite. This is because it was named after Mooka Creek. The suffix 'ite' is often used when minerals are named after people or places.
Examples include sugilite, labradorite and fuchsite to name just a few.
