Natural smoky quartz crystals emerging from a bed of rock matrix. Some of the points are very small so to see them you'll have to look closely. Three or possibly four of the smaller crystals have broken off low down but having looked at the crystals closely we beleve this happened naturally many many years ago. Along with the well formed crystals which can be clearly seen, others that are not so visible have intergrown with adjacent points.
Clusters of terminated quartz crystals are common and formations can vary in size from tiny to gigantic. Despite being one of the most abundant minerals on the planet, quartz has fascinated man for thousands of years.
