A spectacular fluorite terminated point with mainly purple colouration. To fully appreciate fluorite it needs to be held up towards the light. Some yellow colouration can also be seen in this piece.
In our photos various degrees of lighting have been used to illuminate this fluorite point.
Whilst it may seem like a good idea to position fluorite close to a sunny window, the colour is not stable and will fade if exposed to sunlight for any length of time. It's also a relatively soft and fragile mineral so pieces like this must not be allowed to fall over. Should they do so the tip is likely to chip and the crystal may also fracture. Fluorite fractures very easily.
