Shattuckite which is quite a rare mineral can be found in several locations around the world but most of the finest specimens come from Namibia, Democratic Republic of Congo (although very rare) and Arizona in the USA. It was named after the Shattuck Mine located close to the city of Bisbee in Arizona where it was discovered in 1915.
A vivid blue coloured copper silicate mineral, it requires other existing copper minerals to form. Shattuckite often forms after malachite and these specimens can exhibit exceptional colour.
This striking polished stone is shattuckite in quartz. The blue mineral is shattuckite. Highly polished and with an incredibly smooth texture, this is sadly the only piece of shattuckite we currently have available.
When used for its metaphysical properties shattuckite is said to be beneficial for mediums and those who wish to communicate with the spirit world. A stone of communication, it can strengthen links with spirit guides and help with telepathy and intuition.
Shattuckite removes memories from the past which may be holding you back and can improve communication. It removes fear and anxiety and promotes open and honest conversation. It may also be used for confidence when talking about matters that may otherwise be difficult to address.
