Mookaite which comes from Western Australia is an Australian Jasper. Soon after being discovered it was named by locals purely for identification purposes. Although never officially registered, the name is now widely used around the world.
Named after Mooka Creek where it was found, the correct pronunciation should be mooka~ite.
Hues of red, orange, green and yellow can be seen in this mookaite sphere along with a small splash of blue. Blue is relatively rare in any type of jasper.
