Labradorite a beautiful stone that never ceases to amaze and fascinate. This piece has the smoothest texture so once in your hand, it's really difficult to put it down.
With it being highly translucent when held towards the light you can see right through it. Turn the stone so the top is facing either up or down and a vivid blue sheen can immediately be seen. This impressive colour is not from the labradorite but is the reflection of light. It's produced as light reflects off crystals beneath the surface of the stone.
In our first photo this stone is being gently illuminated from different angles. The last photo was taken with nothing more than natural daylight coming through an adjacent window. No filters have been used.
The base of this labradorite stone is flat. It's highly polished and incredibly iridescent on both sides.
