Amethyst Geode from Brazil
A large, chunky section of an amethyst geode with rich purple, translucent crystals.
The amethyst geodes in our collection have all been individually chosen, which allows us to select the very best pieces.
This geode has been reduced slightly because two of the larger crystals on one side have very slight movement. This only came to my attention while the piece was being handled for photography.
The movement is minimal and only noticeable if the crystals are physically moved. There is little danger of them falling out.
This anomaly does not affect the overall appearance or display quality of this geode.
Amethyst geodes are natural formations that grow slowly over millions of years. Once mined and cut into smaller sections, they are transported over vast distances and handled extensively. Therefore, it's not unusual for individual crystals, particularly those close to a cut edge, to show very slight movement within the matrix.
To retain the natural colour of amethyst, it should be displayed in a cool environment away from direct natural light. Dust can be removed by gently rinsing under cool water if necessary, then leaving the piece to dry naturally.
