Crystal Quartz Point
In its purest form quartz is colourless and transparent. This piece boasts exceptional clarity and just has some very subtle inclusions towards the base of the crystal.
Quartz with this degree of purity is also known as rock crystal. The name came about during the late Middle Ages and was used to differentiate clear quartz from a new material known as colourless glass. The glass was also known as crystal glass.
This piece is being offered at a slightly reduced price because there are two minor anomalies on the base of the crystal. One is a small indentation into the quartz, the other is an inclusion within the quartz that can just about be felt on the surface.
When polishing quartz some anomalies will not be polished out becuase it would mean losing more of the crystal than absolutely necessary.
Both can be seen in our last photo.
