Angelite Pendant Angelic Blue
Angelite is a variety of the mineral anhydrate. Although it can be found in different colours and in several countries around the world, only the blue variety is known as angelite.
Anhydrate is a form of calcium sulphate which occurs naturally in both an anhydrous (without water) and hydrated (with water) form. The hydrated variety is better known as gypsum. When mixed with water gypsum hardens because of the process of crystallisation. The name anhydrate comes from the Greek word anhydrous meaning without water.
Angelite is often carved into figurines but in particular angels. This is because when used for its metaphysical properties it's considered to be associated with the angelic realm.
This lightweight ladies pendant has been crafted in a fine sterling silver setting. The surface of the stone has some subtle white marks which we believe may be part of the stone. Because we're not certain this angelite pendant has been slightly reduced.
