Clear Quartz Crystal Balls
Crystal balls have intrigued and fascinated humans since the dawn of time. They've always been associated with magic, mysticism and divination.
Divination is the art of reading the future by supernatural means.
The Celtic druids are believed to have been the first people to have used a crystal ball for the purpose of scrying. Also known as crystal gazing, scrying is the practice of looking intently into a reflective surface to see images relating to the future.
Although the crystal ball became the tool of choice for divination, at one time any reflective surface was used. The druid civilization disappeared about 1,200 years ago.
Crystal balls described as 'water clear' can be expensive. They're cut from transparent quartz crystal that's free from impurities and inclusions. To produce any kind of mineral sphere as much as 80% of the material from which it's cut is lost.
Many crystal balls are cut from glass or lead crystal. Lead crystal is is glass infused with lead.
The crystal balls in our photos are standing on hematite rings. These make ideal stands for most polished spheres but are slightly too large for these crystal balls. They're not included in the price of the sphere.
Three of our crystal balls (one in each size) have minor imperfections. We're therefore selling them at a slightly reduced price.
