Raw Amethyst Crystals from Congo
Wonderfully translucent amethyst crystals from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
These stones have been cleaned but not polished. This grade of amethyst, especially in rough material, is not easy to find.
When held up towards the light, the crystals exhibit a deep-purple colour and some colour zoning, which is characteristic of amethyst. The colour in some of the crystals is richer than in others.

The fourth photo shows the entire quantity of this rough, unpolished amethyst I have available. Sizes have been split into small, medium and large.
The last photo was taken using natural daylight from an adjacent window. However, this isn't always possible or practical when photographing rocks and minerals. To really appreciate the natural colour and characteristics of some stones, additional lighting is necessary.
