Picture Jasper Pendant
Picture Jasper is a variety of mudstone that's made up primarily of clay and silt sized particles that are way too small to be seen with the naked eye. Whilst mudstone doesn't sound like the kind of material you'd want to be using as a gemstone, shades of colour and the range of patterns in which varieties such as Picture Jasper occur, make it unique and very eye-catching. Cut as a cabochon it takes on a high polish and when carefully chosen, stones can be transformed into some great pieces of jewellery.
Despite its size, this Picture Jasper pendant is quite chunky and the reason for it being reduced is because the ring at the top of the sterling silver setting to which the bale is attached, is not perfectly centred. It's just two millimetres further to the right than it should be but it's really not that noticeable unless you look very carefully and certainly doesn't affect the way the pendant hangs.
All of our ladies pendants have been hand crafted by a small team of talented artisans with whom Stone Mania have been working for many years. Occasionally a few pieces end up with minor imperfections and instead of having these re-made which is likely to damage the stone, we simply add them to our Bargain Basement. All of the items in this section of our website have minor imperfections hence have been significantly reduced but should you not be completely satisfied with anything that you buy, it may be returned for a full refund (T&C's apply).
