Triangular shaped pink chalcedony pendant crafted by hand for Stone Mania in a fine sterling silver setting. Although the mineral chalcedony when used as a gemstone is often dyed in an attempt to make its colour more appealing, the subtle pink colouration in this well polished and slightly translucent cabochon is completely natural.
The term chalcedony describes a compact variety of microcrystalline quartz which is made up of crystals far too small to be seen with the naked eye. In its purest form the stone is white but inclusions of other minerals cause a wide variation in colour. There are many different types of chalcedony some of which include jasper, agate, bloodstone, chrysoprase and carnelian to name just a few. Cabochons which exhibit the most subtle colour and also those which have been dyed are popular for use in gemstone jewellery and are simply known as chalcedony.
Comfortably light weight and with a simple but elegant design, the reason for this pink chalcedony pendant being added to our Bargain Basement is because there is some very minor surface damage on the back of the gemstone which can just about be seen in our photo. As with any item that you purchase from Stone Mania, should you not be completely satisfied with this ladies pendant it may be returned for a full refund (T&C's apply).
