Banded Amethyst is a variety of Amethyst which is relatively unknown. Sometimes referred to as Chevron Amethyst or Amethyst Quartz, it is often confused with Blue John which is an extremely rare variety of Fluorite from Derbyshire, England. The purple hue in this marquise shaped piece of Banded Amethyst is quite incredible and can be seen best when lit up from behind. Finding nice quality gemstones in this variety can be extremely difficult and as a result, we only ever have a very limited number of Banded Amethyst gemstones in stock at any one time.
