Tiger Iron Pendant

Tiger Iron is frequently confused with Tigers Eye but they are actually two  different gemstones.  Tiger Iron generally features distinctive horizontal or vertical lines where as the patterns in Tigers Eye are rarely uniformed in this way.  Furthermore Tiger Iron features a significant amount of Hematite which is the dark steely grey coloured mineral which is rarely seen in Tigers Eye.

Few people have heard of Tiger Iron and it's not seen that often in jewellery although it is quite readily available.  Tiger Iron is made up of Red Jasper, Tigers Eye and Hematite and was formed over two billion years ago.
